The AR-275/235 can be used with most of today's popular operating systems, including Windows® 95/98/Me/2000, Windows NT® 4.0 and Mac* OS 8.5.1 9.1. With the optional AR-NC5J Print Server Card, 10Base-T and 100Base-TX Ethernet are supported as well as allows the AR-275/235 to be used in various network environments including Novell IPX/SPX and NetBEUI for Windows.

A convenient Job Separator* outputs printed documents onto a separate tray, preventing them from getting mixed in with copies and faxes. The Job Offset function stacks print jobs slightly offset from one another to make them easier to retrieve.

Sharp's original Printer Administration Utility software allows network managers to check the printing status or configure settings directly from the print server. Should a problem occur, such as the machine being out of paper or toner, an alert message will be displayed on the client PC's screen.
