Introducing the Sharp Booth at CEATEC JAPAN 2011

Many New Products and Technologies to Transform People’s Lives Will Be Exhibited, Including Energy Solutions

Sharp Corporation will be exhibiting at CEATEC JAPAN 2011, the annual comprehensive exposition of cutting-edge IT and electronics to be held October 4th (Tuesday) through the 8th (Saturday) at the Makuhari Messe convention center in Chiba City, Chiba Prefecture. Sharp will display a large number of much-talked-about products and new technologies, including energy solutions centered on solar-related products, new smartphones and tablet terminals, and new ways to enjoy TV with Freestyle AQUOS.

Exhibit Highlights

“Solar” Stage

1. Solar-Related Products
   

Sharp will introduce its wide range of solar energy solutions, ranging from new residential solar panel products to mega-solar power generation projects that are spreading throughout the world.
In particular, Sharp will present its latest home energy solutions designed for use in combination with solar (photovoltaic) power generation systems. These include a Visual Home Power Monitoring System that uses a dedicated tablet terminal to provide users with an integrated visual display of the electricity consumption of individual appliances in the home to help save energy, and a Backup Power System for Use During Power Outages and Disaster Emergencies.

“Smart Life” Stage

2. Freestyle AQUOS
    This area features specific installation examples and actual usage scenarios to show the appeal of Sharp’s new Freestyle AQUOS TVs, which users can easily set up in their favorite location in the home, in their preferred viewing style, to enjoy both TV and Internet content.
 
3.   Next-Generation LCD Technology (ICC 4K LCD TV*1, Super Hi-Vision Display)
    Sharp will be exhibiting the ICC 4K LCD TV with a resolution four times that of current full HD LCD panels, and an 85-inch direct-view LCD compatible with Super Hi-Vision*2 (ultra high definition), the next generation video format for TV broadcasting. Visitors will be able to actually experience Sharp’s advanced LCD technologies that will play a key role in the digital video culture of the 21st century.
