Sharp has begun its fiscal 2008 environmental education program for elementary schools with the aim of reaching 500 schools in Japan this year.
The first session was held on April 14, at Ritsumeikan Primary School in Kyoto City for 120 fifth grade students, on the themes of global warming and solar power as new energy. Sharp is making this year's lessons more enriching by incorporating ideas and opinions voiced by students and teachers in last year's lessons.
