On March 8, about 50 employees and their families from Sharp Electronica España S.A. (SEES, a manufacturing and sales company in Spain) visited an effluent treatment facility and water museum in Catalonia.

In Catalonia, droughts frequently occur because of the Mediterranean climate and a higher demand for water than inflow to inland basins, and effective utilization of water resources is an important matter. SEES aims to let its employees recognize the importance of water.

First, they toured one of the biggest effluent treatment facilities in Europe. It has an advanced water treatment system, to harmonize with its surroundings. Next, they visited the Agbar Water Museum which presents a society with values associated with the culture of water and encourages visitors to realize the significance of water as a vital resource

SEES hopes this visit helped the participants to develop an awareness of the need to cherish water resources. It is hoped that each of them will carry over what they learned into their daily life.
