SEC Recognized for Commitment to the Environment

On January 8, Sharp Electronics Corporation (SEC) was recognized for the sixth consecutive year for its participation in the Plug-In To eCycling program for consumer electronics recycling. The ceremony took place at the largest electronics trade show in the world, the 2008 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, hosted by the US Consumer Electronics Association.

The Plug-In To eCycling program, established in 2002, is a partnership between the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and consumer electronics manufacturers, retailers and service providers to promote consumer electronics recycling. SEC has been participating in recycling events at retailer outlets since the first year.

On the previous day at CES, SEC introduced to the press its new consumer electronics recycling management company, Electronic Manufacturers Recycling Management Company (MRM), established in collaboration with Panasonic and Toshiba.
