In the past, Sharp Festivals were held at each site for the benefit of Sharp employees and their families. These events have now been expanded to include the community. Featuring cultural and sports programs, Sharp Festivals are increasingly being held in conjunction with community events and are becoming an annual happening on many community calendars.

Sharp has recreation fields, tennis courts, gymnasiums, and other recreational facilities that it opens to local athletic groups and organizations, such as youth baseball and soccer teams, and women's volleyball. In fiscal 2006, more than 37,000 people used these facilities.

Each site participates in Volunteer Support Programs sponsored by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport to beautify areas along national highways.
Since May 2002, the Mie Plant has been holding Environmental Activity Days on an ongoing basis as a cooperative effort between labor and management. Participants collect litter and plant flowers along the pedestrian walkways on the road in front of the plant. (In fiscal 2006, approximately 1,100 employees in total took part.)
The Tokyo Branch has been participating in the Volunteer Support Program since October 2005, and has been holding ongoing volunteer activities to clean up roadsides in the vicinity. (In fiscal 2006, approximately 150 employees took part.)

Since April 2006, Sharp Yonago Corporation has participated in the Naka-Umi Adopt Program, a cleanup effort for this coastal lagoon that touches the borders of both Tottori and Shimane Prefectures.
This campaign was introduced with the goal of achieving a swimmable Naka-Umi to celebrate the designation of Lake Naka-Umi and Lake Shinji as wetlands of international importance under the Ramsar Convention in November 2005.
Sharp Yonago is responsible for a lakefront area located within Minatoyama Park in Yonago City, and is involved in an ongoing cleanup and beautification campaign.
In fiscal 2006, a total of three campaign events were held with the participation
of 125 employees and family members. Everyone worked up a brisk sweat gathering
trash and garbage such as dead branches and plastic materials that had washed
up along the shoreline.
