Sharp Festivals are held each year at various Sharp sites as a means of exchange
with local communities. Introducing Sharp's environmental activities is a big
part of these events. At the Fukuyama Plant's Family Day, Panels
and models were used to show visitors the plant's unique wastewater processing
technique. And the environmental performance of AQUOS LCD TVs was introduced

measures taken by the plant.

Twice a year, The Fukuyama Plant has carried out joint analyses of plant wastewater with local residents and city officials. Wastewater samples are analyzed separately by Sharp, local resident groups, and the local government. A meeting is then held to share the results and exchange opinions. The results have shown that Sharp is a company in which local residents can place their trust. To gain the understanding of more people, Fukuyama Plant employees headed to local community meetings where they explained wastewater data and environmental activities at the plant.
