Sharp has reported on its environmental efforts over the years, starting with the Environmental Report in 1999. Social activities were included starting in 2002, and in 2005 the publication’s name was changed to the Environmental and Social Report. The 2012 edition—and all subsequent editions—is called the Sustainability Report and covers a wide range of activities that Sharp conducts to contribute to the realization of a sustainable society.

In this version, a special report on fiscal 2011 activities is introduced in a section called Special Feature. Detailed content and related data are introduced in three sections: Management, Sharp and the Environment, and Sharp and Society.
